B-6335, the die cast insert in the rear of the cylinder block which lines up with the rear of the bearing cap which Ford described as "seal (crankshaft rear bearing oil)" in its period chassis parts catalogs, isn't really a seal in the usual sense of the word as there is no direct contact with the crankshaft. Rather it is grooved on the inside like the matching surface on the bearing cap to catch the oil thrown off by the slinger on the crankshaft which is then drained off through a tube in front of the cap to return to the oil pan. The outside rear surface of the cap is grooved for a cork seal between the cap and the oil pan.

So there is no real seal rope, cork or rubber. The oil drains out the tube. Everything was a oily mess forgot if I dug a seal out of there. Thanks Pete.
