Default What Spindle Is This?

Found this for sale.

Guy says he doesn't know what car it's for.

Has number 21A cast on it.

More pic's available if necessary.

It's looking like it has been modified by welding an axle stub onto the spindle plate?

Or maybe that's just an applied ring?

Possibly a V8 spindle that needs to be trashed.

I agree with Jim. The best place for that is in the recycle bin where it will probably end up in China. They will likely make a whole car out of it.

Possible race car modification to move wheel out. I've been discovering more dirt car parts when I'm out picking. I noticed in a old photo that what I thought was a homemade exhaust manifold was actually a popular race car exhaust.

It's a modified 1942 thru 1948 Ford spindle.

Thanks for the responses.

'modified by welding an axle stub onto the spindle plate'

'Possible race car modification to move wheel out'

Then it would be a bit of a chore finding a matching one it seems.

We will pass on it.

'modified 1942 thru 1948 Ford spindle'

Those sound good. The later parts have been improved over the years.

Learned that with the '62 292 and automatic we had.

Chock full of little improvements.

Have fun!
