Default Mac's Auto parts order

Hi guys. I ordered a couple of 1930 Ford hood retaining brackets and a hood bumper set from Macs. I got the complete order the morning of the 3rd day, all there! Gary

Glad you've had success with them. As for me, they are off my list of potential vendors.

Looks like more Mac's bashing, but from my interaction with them, they deserve it.

Still waiting for a replacement sidemount arm. The first one they sent had a broken frame mount casting - no broken pieces though were in the sealed shipping box, leading me to question whether they shipped a broken part to begin with. So far, my shipping costs are only $37.00 more than was quoted at the time of order, but as I said, they still haven't shipped a replacement part yet, so I rather suspect this figure is somewhat low. I'd have done better to go to another vender, I was just hopeful of getting a reduced pricing on parts that I would think should be of a similar quality as other proven venders.

I have had good results with them. They recently shipped me a bolt set that was missing some parts, I emailed them and they sent a replacement the next day, no charges. So, at least in that case they handled an issue well. All of my other orders have been on time and complete.

Well, if you're having good luck then fine. I bought a rear seat riser for a Model T four years ago from Macs, and it was the wrong one, so they took it back no problem. So no complaints here.

Nick, was that with the pulley? Sumbitch...I can't win. I got a motor rebuilt in less time. Still waiting on a rear spring as well (45 days) but all vendors are saying there is a wait on those. Machine shop said two day turn around on flywheel lightened and balanced with plate. That has been 5 days. What's wrong with people????? I think these projects take many years to do because these people won't tell you they don't have it so you wont look else where.

Yes, that was with the pulley. I have a feeling you might have to reorder it. I agree, they don't want you to go elsewhere. I ordered 4 complete drums from them, said they had 4, shipped me 3. I ordered another rear drum from Berts. 2 months later, that back ordered drum from macs shows up. Now I have a extra drum.

If you are still looking for springs, try calling Little Dearborn Parts in Minneapolis. They assemble them there.

I just got one of their catalogs. Their breakdown on different parts is the best. You can clearly see what part you need to buy. I have not bought anything from them yet so I can't comment on that. But what I can see is they have the best catalog out of all the vendors.

started well and ended bad....

I am owning 3 A´s (76-A, 35-A and 165-D), especially the first two ones were spare part intensive. I purchased parts in the past two years for approx. 20.000,- mostly without discounts (overseas customer). Everything I ordered for another project in the past four months was not available, out of stock, in backorder and it was impossible to get more information about delivery times.

It makes very little sense to order online, not knowing, if these parts are on stock or not. So I had to cancel the last 1200,- order and ordered at Snyder instead, got parts delivered within 7 days (overseas and customs cleared !!)

Since Macs got sold to the Eckler Group, service, communication and confidence in acceptable delivery time goes bad :-(
