Default 60-A and 60-B Body Tags (Briggs)

This concerns the two and possibably 3 Body Tags that were used by the Briggs Mfg. Co. on the 60-A and 60-B 2-Window Fordor Sedans.

The first was a tag about 2" x 1/2" and was indicated by 190-XXXXXX.

The second was a tag that was as such:

BODY NUMBER
190-XXXXXX
Briggs Mgf. Co. Detroit, Mich.

The third was a tag that indicated 191-XXXXXX

Not sure if Body Tag #3 was like that of #2.

We, Russell Knaack and myself, are looking for examples of #2 and #3 Body Tags that were used on the 60-A and 60-B 2-Window Sedans.

If you have a sample of those two tags...would you mind sharing them?

Also...looking for tags between 190-151224 and 190-157738 and beyond.

Thank You.

Were these on the firewall or floor sill?

We know #1 was tacked to the floor sills.

Not sure about #2 and #3 but more than likely to the floor sills also.

Thanks for posting this Steve. To me, it solves the mystery of why some 190A Victoria Coupe owners think that Briggs built 190As, which they did not. Of the 591 Victoria survivors on record with the International Victoria Association, none have been substantiated to have been built by a company other than Murray. However, Briggs did build 190 Fordors, so the 190 Model Number was used twice in the Model "A" product line.

Here is a picture of where the Briggs body tag is located on 60-A, B, & C Fordors (possibly other Briggs bodies as well). I would appreciate any body #'s with Firewall dates from the 60-A/B/C in order to reproduce the "production curve", which will finally reveal how many of these body styles were made, and when.
