Default Jetting rich

I was reading the thread about the flow tested jets from Renners, and rather than get it off track, I started a new one.
I wondered if anybody is intentionally jetting up beacause they choose to/are forced to run ethanol fuel. How about E-85?
I do my best to run non-ethanol fuel in my stuff, because, in my mind at least, they run better and give fewer problems.
I'm curious to hear other's thoughts on this.
Hey, at least I made up my own mind about what oil I like.

If you feel like you need to adjust the running mixture with the current E-10, use the GAV. Don't mess with jets.

I have not heard of anyone running their A on E-85, but I guess you could. If anyone has experience with it, please chime in.

about 4 years ago I was attending "Back to the 50's" at the Minnesota state fairgrounds. This is the big show where about 10 to 13 thousand hot rods and antique car gather for the show and swap meet. There was a guy with a Model A pickup running E-85 and was pushing the crap as a good fuel. He had some corn kernels in his clear sediment bulb to show what he was running. I don't recall that he modified anything, but am not sure that he didn't change something either to use the junk fuel.

I haven't seen the pickup since, so maybe his valves all got stuck?

Thanks for the replies. I gather nobody is doing anything special for the ethanol.

I do know some people with flathead V-8s who report a bit of lean surge at steady cruise with with E fuel. I think, from memory, that the alcohol has roughly 70% of the heat content of gasoline, so when it is 15% of the total fuel it is getting to a critical point on a non-adjustable carburetor.
With a stock Model A, setting the GAV to where the engine is happy would seem to cover the problem entirely seamlessly.
