A lot of parts (and other things) are increasing in price, partly due to the trade sanctions our government put on import of materials. FWIW I paid $275 per Stipe shock in 12/2014, so $35 increase in ~6 years.

Do I really have to paint them black??? Love the way they look unpainted

I have two sets on my cars. One set has about 50k miles and the still work as new. I am well satisfied.

I put the Stipes shock on my '31 A pickup. Handles a world better than without.

I think they dipped them in high gloss when new.

Most (all) movable or adjustable parts where sprayed with lacquer.

What would guys say/think if you saw these shocks painted in wheel colour (apple green in my case) rather than black?

I took a special satin black. Not deep black. A very little bit grey shadow; "eldered".
