Any ideas on how to remove front hub from the crankshaft ( the piece the front seal rides on )

I've heard of them being chiseled off. If the crank is out of the engine, pull it off ahead of the crank gear with a gear puller. We need more info about your need.

You got the pulley off ?
Pull the cam gear a bit them drive it back in place again, that gives you a gap to use a puller to get the sleeve off.
If youre not gonna reuse it grind a flat spot and break it with a chisel.

I use a big three-jaw gear puller and pull the whole gear and seal sleeve in one go. There are two types of pulleys - one is designed to use this sleeve and the other has the sleeve on it (like the earlier flatheads). So - there are options as to whether or not you use it in the future. (I have typically used the sleeves).
