Grease
I like the Red and Stickey type wheel bearing greases. I am replacing/cleaning a lot of areas that have grease fittings and would like to use the red kind. Is there any place it should NOT be used?

Re: Grease
Most any quality grease is better than NO GREASE!
Personally, I would use a High Quality, high temp, disc brake grease for the wheel bearings. ALL wheel bearing greases are NOT EQUAL!! There's some CHEAP, INFERIOR stuff out there. Bill W.

Re: Grease
I got a can of grease labeled "Timken". Figured that if Timken allowed their name on it, it was good to go for wheel bearings. BTW, it is red.
Everything else, at Tom W's recommendation, Mystic JP6. (It's also red)

Re: Grease
Don't use the white lithium grease on bearings, it's good for cables, hoses and rub points, but not bearings.

What you want is a Lithium Complex grease fortified with MoS2 and having either a mineral oil, or synthetic PAO base oil. Rocketsled |

Re: Grease
To clarify my original post. I am using the red wheel bearing grease for the bearings. Is it all right to use in other places - shackles, king pins, steering arms etc.

Re: Grease
Steering column, even if there is a grease fitting there.

Re: Grease
Yes. The only "special" grease I use is for the water pump. Wheel bearing grease for most general purpose stuff.
