Re: 1931 Murray fordor rear door ?
'30, Briggs, cowl lights, dome light over the rear seat, quarter windows stationary.
This could be a 155 B or D This are very nice cars, great for day trips with the wife and kids, roomy and comfy, with classic looks. Need to look for the "Briggs bug" one near the lower cowl lace and they should be scattered on a lot of the parts. . It a capital "B" with a "M" inside the top and a "C" inside the bottom.

Re: 1931 Murray fordor rear door ?
Hi,
For a Briggs you might find some pictures on my website, especially here: https://www.fordmodela.com/restoration/body/wood/. The top hinges of the rear doors in my car were fixed each by two „through“ screws and one wood screw. Unfortunately I have not taken measurements but I could have a look at the original pieces that I did not through away, if desired. Michael

Re: 1931 Murray fordor rear door ?
Photos are a good thing for identification. The lightly arched side windows were definitely a characteristic of the Murray bodies. Straight top side windows were all Briggs characteristics. All knowledge that is good toward getting one of these cars correct.
This is on a 1930 but the bodies are a lot alike. https://www.fordmodela.com/restorati...-wood-fitting/ There are metal pieces that cover the area and those can be seen in the photos. They have three holes in the photos. The wood was likely replaced at some point and just not finished. |
