brake problem
ok , i'm new to driving a model A and not used to the brakes.I had to really hit the brakes hard because i was too close to the guy in front of me and he stopped quick. The brakes were fine before that now when i stop they squeek really loud, and sorta pulsate . Do you all think i messed something up ? Should i have someone look at them, or is this something i can look at without doing more damage. I can do brakes on my daily driver but not sure about these 1930 brakes. I just got the car a couple weeks ago.

Re: brake problem
I doubt you messed anything up. If you just got the car, pull the hubs and inspect your linings. In fact, inspect the whole brake system. Mechanical brakes work well when properly restored. When you get them right, remind yourself that you are not driving a modern car. You need to be more defensive and allow extra room around yourself because of the speed and reaction time differences.

Re: brake problem
You will need a hub puller to pull the rears and there are several articles here if you use the search function that will address brake issues. Also get yourself copys of the Ford Model A service bulletins and Les Andrew's Red Book. Both publications are priceless.
