Default Hard to find misfire.

I had made up a spare distributor for the 33, just to try out with a different 11a advance, before I fitted the nice new set from Bubbas,
I ran it up on my machine and it was fine, took it for a drive and it was very nice, but got a miss and conked out,I changed out the coil and condenser and it got going again, I headed home but never made it,I ended up stopped on the roadside, and in the rain, Lucky I had the old distributor with me so fitted that and got home.
I looked at the distributor that conked out but it looked fine until I checked it on my static jig, The points looked fine but it had a short circuit between the coil low tension spring pick up and the two points ,
A bit of tracking with the multi meter finds the little copper strap that connects the socket for the coil low tension spring was shorting out on the points base plate, because it was bent the wrong way.
If you look in my fussy pick on the r/h set you will see.
I got another from my pile and it was an easy fix,
But not the sort of thing I think I would have picked up on the roadside with out a multi meter.
What did I learn from this,I should have just fitted the new set from Bubba,s first up,This I did today and the 33 is back to its reliable self.
