Do you have new brake linings as well? And have you backed the brakes off as far as you can?

Pete,

Something funny is going on. How about some pictures? Did you do anything other than replace the bearing and hubs before you found the problem? Do you still have the old ones to compare? Are you sure the axle key is not hanging up?

Pete - It's possible that the axle keys are binding in the new hubs, especially if the keys are old. An easy way to tell would be to remove the keys and see if the hubs slide on fully. Then you'd want to carefully remove enough material from the keys so that the hubs slide on properly. Good luck!

One more thought -sometimes the e-brake linings are too thick and need to be sanded down (suggest you wear a mask when doing so) so that the drum will fit over them. I had to do this recently when replacing the e-brake shoes/linings.

There are two sizes of linings, one for new drums and one for old.

Full set Standard, Bratton's Part #: 2610

Full set Thick, Bratton's Part #: 2650
