Shine time
The last time out the old X-31 ran through both a rain storm and a bug storm. While cleaning it up today, I was reminded how well a bug removal product worked. It is called Bugs-B-Gone by Sea Foam products.
I'm the kind of guy that bites on every county fair promotion of trick tools or magic elixers. I have a collection of Spark intensifiers and welding rod that I can use to weld beer cans together. This time I got a bingo! This stuff works so well and so easy that I am surprised it is not more widely promoted. Try it, you'll like it! Tell them the Rainmaker sent cha. Ron |

Re: Shine time
Thanks Ron, I'll look for it. It's nice to have an A that goes fast enough to smash bugs. When I got my first A, it didn't go fast enough to chase bugs. Going to Sharon and Iola this year? I saw the X-31 several years ago at Sharon, and remember when you used to have a trailer of A parts at Iola. I wonder if Ryan saved any of your stories from the old fordbarn. I could use a good dose of Cloatisms about now.

Re: Shine time
Vince has some of Ron's stories on his website, makes for good reading on a rainy day like today. Rod

Well it was my plan today to put some shine on the car but Mother Nature had other plans.

Re: Shine time
Funny you should mention this Ron. Just this morning I was looking at all the gnats that flew through the radiator and fan and are now stuck to the front of my powerhouse. I was thinking I should wax it to make removal of bugs easier in the future. I think most of them came from my drive home in the dark last night. I should cut a piece of fiberglass bug screen to fit in front of my radiator for night drives.

Re: Shine time
This is something to keep in mind during my anual trip to see Dad in his old coupe. Last year I could have charged the State of Michigan and extermination fee. The bugs were horrible and it took me the better part of a day to clean the car when I arrived.

Re: Shine time
I've always found that if I had a good coat of wax on my car, the bugs would wash off easier. Mothers products fill the bill for me.

What a neat tradition of taking the car back to your dad. |
