How to add millage to a rebuilt speedometer?
Can a drill be used at a low speed or another method

Default Re: speedometer

In theory you could actuate the magnet shaft with a rotational motor of some sort, but whomever rebuilt your speedometer should have easily set the mileage for you prior to purchase. That style of speedometer has an odometer assembly, not a free floating wheel series, and requires a special jig for assembly/dis-assembly. It is not something that I would advise you to attempt without said tooling.

Best thing to do is to send it to the builder to set the speedometer. But you can do it yourself without any special tools (at least on the Stewart Warner round) but it is a tedious job and would void and warrantee from the builder.
