Default Need advice on installing a fuel pump

I would appreciate some sage advice on installing a fuel pump on a 37 Ford. What is the best way to get the pump arm (with the cup) on the pump rod that goes to the camshaft? When do you know when you are on "low" cam?

Any help would be appreciated.

on the newer ones, drop the rod in and turn the crank back and forth to find the bottom.
I do find the sound of the pump action reassuring though and so we moun ted the pump with the rod on a high spot last time. I also foiund it easier to have the pump mounted on the stand first. I'm sure everyone has a favorite method. oh yeah, you may need a friend or a remote start button.

Thanks, BK! I put the pump on the stand first and it went on easily. Haven't try it yet, but it sounded correct when I installed it. Time will tell.
