Default 40 ford differences

i have a very early 40 coupe and a mid year coupe and the key for the steering lock turns counter clockwise to unlock on one and cliockwise on the other car? does anyone know if there was a change or is one of my NOS
cylinders wrong? Thanks in advance for the answer. I know there are a lot of small changes between the two cars!

One may have the lock cylinder in incorrectly, are both Hurd cylinders and is the face identical on both? Brigs and Straton also made cylinders for Fords in 40.
