could get crafty body wise using an old upside down V hull aluminum boat as your end piece.

Considering he has the fenders, gas tank and firewall i second this but put it the right way up. Cut the sides (gunwales?) lower or put doors in them so it will really look like a speedster but still look like a car. If it looks like a car then people are slightly less likely to pull out in front of you when driving in traffic.
