Reversed eye springs
Anyone built a Rootlieb speedster kit with fenders and the reversed eye front springs? I've working on one, engine is done, working on the front end and the frame I bought needs a new front spring and I was wondering if it would clear the fenders OK with the lower spring.

Re: Reversed eye springs
Here is some general info on springs. From stock, a reversed eye spring should drop your car about 2 inches. Aside from that, the arch of the spring is going to determine how low or high the car sits. Posies has some information on their website:

Re: Reversed eye springs
Having used a Posies reversed eye front spring, with the standard pack of springs they supply, the drop is really closer to 1-1 1/2". The SoCal Speed Shop front spring which I recently installed on car has a lower arch and drops a full 2". Of course, you can remove leafs from either to increase the drop. The SoCal spring does not have those goofy modern looking "bumps" and the rough square cut ends that the Posies spring does (so it looks "period") and the SoCal spring is about the same price. For a stock A front axle, you'll want the SoCal spring with the part number SOC63004 (they make a few different widths). So Cal Speed shops number is 909-469-6171 in Pomona, CA.
