Default Emergency brake band

I can't find any precise drawing neither clear instruction to install correctly the emergency brake bands. The question is: Should the S shaped riveted lugs be in contact with the emergency backing plate, thus providing some guidance when operating the brakes or reversed ? Thanks. Jean-Christophe

It is easy to tell if the bands are on correctly or reversed. They will not set flat on the carrier, and have quite a pronounced tilt to the them. When installed correctly, the 4 spots on the band, the two "S"'s and the two triangular anchor points, will sit evenly on the band, and it will sit square to the edge of the carrier. Good luck, and take your time, I'm sure you will see the difference!

What Jim Said! Also make sure the 2 springs on each band get hooked into the outer holes.

NOTICE that this picture shows the emergency brake band installed incorrectly. It needs to be flipped over!

Here's another picture that may help. The TOP SIDE of each style band in this picture goes against the carrier plate.

Dear Jim, Dear Tom,
I really thank you for your explanations and nice photos. Now it's totally clear and almost done. I can start now with the complete reassembly of my Tudor. Thank you for your kind help.
