plates C or D which one is correct
I'm looking to buy a pair of plates for my pick-up which plate would be correct for it. One is a D and the other is a C. Also what are they worth, they are original 29. Thanks Pete

Re: plates C or D which one is correct
I looked up the WIS truck plates in the ALPCA archives. The 1929 year was absent. The most I could determine was the letter is the weight class but no where did it say what the weight was for each class. The plates prior to 28 had TRUCK on the plates. The 30/31's didn't as far as I could tell.
Value can be a tough one to determine. There are two values. One for the plate collector and the other for the car collector. Most of the time the plate collector is happy with a single example. The car person is more into pairs since some States require pairs like Oregon and California. |

Re: plates C or D which one is correct
I bought a pair of beautifully restored Michigan 31 commercial plates for my truck $75, if that helps.
