Went to a auction today and found a june 30 engine. Turns over but doesn't have carb or exhaust manifolds or dist. All for 60 dollars, how did I do. Pete

Re: Engine at auction
You did good I'd say.
I bought an engine for $50 once, but when I tipped it on the side I heard some clunking. Turns out the oil pump dropped down and got whipped around by the crankshaft. There wasn't much left to save on it. |

Re: Engine at auction
You won't know till you open it up and check all the innards, could be scrap or a gold mine.

Re: Engine at auction
So far looks good, head looks good just by looking. I bought it just for parts, couldn't let it go for scrap. opened the pan and it looks pretty clean. Pete
