Woodgraining at home.
Picked up this method of alternative woodgraining method
on the Hamb last year. This winter it was time for small update on the 33. Have been looking at this one for five years now, time for a change Took out a spraycan of HYUNDAI Hellrot orange, Fired up the acetylene torch and sooted the dashboard. And used toilet paper dabbing around to get something like a wood pattern. Then without touching it I sprayed on some coats of clear, to protect the surface. I will fix the rest later, spring is arriving soon here in Sweden. I think it came out quite nice. I have all electric buttons mounted under the dash , because i dont want to add any extra holes in the rare 1933 standard dashboard. Last edited by Mr 42; 02-29-2012 at 02:39 PM. |

Re: Woodgraining at home.
Pretty unique. A good improvement on the old satin black. Does the clear stick ok to the soot??

Re: Woodgraining at home.
Neat idea. Will it "go" with the color of the car and the interior? Reminds me of a "Tiger Tail" finish.

Re: "Woodgraining" at home.
Ok it may not look like any wood ive/you have seen, but it fools a lot of people.
There is no problem with the clear not sticking over the soot. I did one last year and it looks as "good " as it did on day one. |
