Exhaust tip. Another moment of lunacy!
Between running a garage and looking after 130 acres, occasionally sleeping
and eating to stay alive, I decided to make an exhaust tip for my 32 Cabriolet. |

Awesome. Always enjoy looking at what others have created with their own two hands.

I like your Hand Signals Only. Did you make that as well? It should be something that the EFV8 club offers to everyone. But then one might need to teach these youngsters what the hand signals mean.

I usually don't like exhaust tips on old fords (probably because they are bought at autozone or wherever).
But that is the cats pajamas, or whatever ya say . Love it! Nice work. |

Re: Exhaust tip. Another moment of lunacy!
Likewise, I was not enamoured with the flimsy off-the-shelf "fit with a jubilee clip version". Initially I made a template from cardboard to see how it would look.Nothing particularly clever about making it. Just hours of cutting, filing and polishing. The Ford emblem is a reproduction. The material is 20g stainless steel.
Similarly the HAND SIGNALS ONLY sign was just a matter of getting some 1/8" aluminium sheet, marking out the letters and cutting them out with a hacksaw then trueing them up with a file. Letters were then glued on to the oval plate and then painted black. Through each stage paint was removed as required and finally the letters polished. |

Re: Exhaust tip. Another moment of lunacy!
Nice work all-around.
Hope that when you say used a "hacksaw" you meant what we over here call a bandsaw. Interesting font on the sign, especially the letter 'G'
