It's a fairly late '32 distributor that has been modified with a late '36 breaker plate and points and a '36 shaft and centrifugal weights.

I see two different distributors in these pictures as Ted already mentions. One has the late '36 points, point plate, rotor and #68 cam shaft. The other looks like a '33 - early '36, with early one piece points, point plate and early rotor. Can't see what number is on back of cam shaft. Coils on both distributors are '33 to early '36, three screw mount, with Ford script logo on domed top, although one coil is mounted with only two screws. This would most likely be the '32 distributor housing that DavidG mentioned.

42,
What David and JM say. That funky oiler and the lump on the front confirm
it. It can be rescued , pretty valuable I'd say !

Separate postings or just keeping the photos in sequence rather than mixing them up would have been nice to help the elderly, such as me, from jumping to conclusions.

In any event, the three photos in your #7 posting are all of a fairly late '32 distributor. It is fairly rare and valuable. The breaker plate in it is the '34 and up version with the larger diameter points (which is a good idea).

The '33-'36 distributor with the '36 innards in your initial photos is neither rare nor valuable.

Here are some pictures of a '32 distributor that I had previously downloaded for my files. As DavidG and Charlie ny mention, this is a rare and valuable item. I recently saw one like this on an internet auction site for $1000.00 USD.

If you decide to take your distributors apart, as would be required for rebuild, please be very careful not to break the housings. If you want any suggestions on how to proceed with disassembly, just ask.

The last few pictures posted here are of my 35 distributor completely dismantled for a rebuild. This will give you, or other folks who care to see this, all the parts and pieces layed out.
