Christmas Present
Here is my Christmas Present. My wife commissioned reknowned artist Ben Barnhart to do the rendering. It is perfect, even the color match.

Was a six, but now hidden under the hood is this with an AOD Transmission. See no need to drill the fenders. Nice catch! Tom |

Re: Christmas Present
Sure is different, and really nice, but THREE pedals would finish that off appropriately! DD

Re: Christmas Present
Super, nice, my wife would have said "the AOD is your present!" I hope it's hung in the parlor. BTW took my driving test in that model year. (it was a six)

Re: Christmas Present
If I'm guessing right, and you're car was a 6 cyl. with overdrive, then it should have about a 4.10 axle. Pretty ideal for an AOD. Nice.

Re: Christmas Present
I gotta ask, Is the Ardun airbrushed under the hood too???
My buddy has the same car and it looks like the same Factory color, sorta a golden hued Chocolate brown.... I never really went for the 50's Ford's but the body lines and side trim really make them look smart. (Barry's is a 54 but he pulled the Flathead outta and went sbf with the early non metric AOD4). The Flathead was full of water. It turned out nice and we even convinced him to keep the bullet hole in the rear (under the tail light) after he painted it. -With factory color matched rims and simple center caps it has an air of "back road rum runner'. |

Re: Christmas Present
Its a 54 and was also a Mercury version.
Somebody robbed the scipt from the trunk lid that said "Merc-o-matic. Try and find a replacement for that, un-obtainimum.... |
