Default Location of heater door

I am doing the metal work on my cowl and I need to patch and move the heater door to the correct location. Right now it is partially into the indent for the bellhousing. Can anyone give me the correct measurements as to where the center of the heater door should be located?

There seem to be different locations for different type "heaters.
I know my Autolite aluminimum one fits right up and on to to the little pipe extension from the heater door, yet many others require a pipe in between heater and heater door.

Originally, your car didn't have a heater. There aren't any correct measurements.

If you are trying to install a heater, you need to tell us which heater you're installing.

I don't have a heater yet, just the heater door that someone installed poorly. I didn't realize that there were different places for different heaters, so I will just patch the hole and wait until I get a heater. Thanks.
