Default 28-29 Front welled fenders

At the bottom of the 28-29 front welled fenders, there is a hole for water drainage.

On ORIGINAL front welled fenders....Is that hole ROUND or OVAL?

Thanks.

Steve,
I have two original fenders with wells in them. One is a NOS fender for my 29 CCPU. The holes aren't quite round, but slight elongated in my opinion. The holes aren't quite really oval either. I am attaching pictures of them - judge for yourself from the pictures. If you need measurements let me know.

Thanks DJ and Rusty. All the ones I have are round also EXCEPT the very early 1928 front welled fender which is a long oval hole. I am hoping that the Part Releases says something in relation to that.

Steve,
Here are some photos of the holes in 5 welled fenders, these are all the 3 1/8" style. The last one is taken from the bottom.

Think they started as round holes and became oval as the well was stamped?
