Default Transmission and rear end oil

What grade oil would be best suited for the original 1953 4 speed transmission for a 1953 F250? And rear end oil?

You should have the T98 4-sp, synchro'd on 2-3-4? That was also used in some trucks in 51-52, see lube chart below. (Remote shift = column shifter 3-sp)

For a transmission I would look for Sta-Lube GL-4 mild EP gear oil but GL-1 would also work. The viscosity depends on the seasonal temperature as illustrated in the previous post. The rear axle can use about any gear oil including high EP GL-5 since there are no soft metal bushings or thrust washers in it.
