Changing oil on a 39 ford flathead, where do you get filters for these?

Can you post a picture? What type of filter setup do you have?

If it's a typical bypass canister type, C4 Fram or WIX 51006 should fit. Napa carries the WIX. Best to pull what you have and post a pic of the filter or at least the housing.

Ya pic would help. 39 doesn’t have a filter.

First picture is Wix, second picture is Fram.

I am a Wix man myself.

The third picture is the Wix filter I pulled out of my engine 11 years ago, after I bought the car.

Nice thing about the wix is it comes with x2 different size large o-ring lid seals depending on the canister you have. The fram c4 comes with one size if your lucky. Fram C4P comes with x2 seals but the filter is slightly different dimensions, shorter in height if I remember correctly but will still work.

I like the full metal housing of the wix compared to the fram but the fram is easier to cut open for inspection if needed.

I agree with post 3 & 4 for a pic. I have a friend who has this:

There's a video on You Tube where a guy compares the various brands of spin on filters. If you watch it you will avoid Fram filters.

I mean, I guess for a driver it's okay. But damn that's ugly.
