Default 1938 Deluxe deck lid identification needed.

Not going to Hershey but was able to get this deck lid early this morning. Was an hour away but thought it would make some great garage art or to resell if someone is looking for one like this. 1938 Deluxe but which model sedan was it used on? or both? Also, did they use the same lid on 1939 models? Thanks, dimensions are approximate, 1st picture across top, 2nd across bottom, last picture from top to bottom.

Gary ....That lid that you show is definitely '38, determined by that distinctive handle....same handle on '38 coupes. "37 & '38 COUPE lids will fit either year, Standard OR DeLuxe.

'38 SEDANS, both STANDARD & DeLuxe, changed body style to the "new" sloped '39 & '40 sedan style. Your trunk lid should fit '38, '39 & '40 SEDANS, STANDARD & DeLuxe.

NOT a coupe deck lid! (If it were, then it would fit 1937-38 coupe and club cabriolet).
It looks to be a Deluxe Sedan lid (Standard is way different, a bit of a carryover from 1937 but even then different).
My understanding is the basic shape is the same 1938 Deluxe Sedan, 1939 Sedan (Standard or Deluxe) and 1940 Sedan (Standard or Deluxe), with differences for the cut out for the deck handle.
Then there are the aussie slopers...

Nice find.

Sorry for ANY confusion that I caused. In no way did I mean to imply that that was a '37-'38 "COUPE" lid. I was only talking about that being a '38 handle as used on coupes & sedans. As far as the lid fitting STANDARD sedans, well I just blew that one, 'cuz I know better. Again, sorry for any confusion, guys! DD

It's on the wall, suggested I hang it next to my wife's dresser but no go! So out into the garage with the other trinkets.
