Re: Looking for oil pan & removal video
Drain the oil and remove all the bolts, it is basic gravity from there. On replacement you can secure the gasket so it won't shift and just reverse the sequence. the rope seals should be soaked at least a day in oil or atf and tapped in with a large socket to shape. do not trim the rope they seem to long but they are made to compress. I use some gasket cement on the pan side and only if I decide to use any.

Re: Looking for oil pan & removal video
You will also need something to hold the oil pump in place while installing the pan, since the pan holds the pump in place. There's a plug in the block, where you can insert a bolt, or use the inexpensive tool the vendors sell. I've also read of using a piece of twine, until the pan has been loosely attached.

Re: Looking for oil pan & removal video
Get the inexpensive bolt that threads into the block to hold the pump....if you use a regular bolt you will ruin the threads. There pipe threads.....tighten just enough to hold the pump or you will damage the pump

Re: Looking for oil pan & removal video
I use a small piece of paper to shim the pump to hold it in place if necessary. Now that you know all there is to the job make us a video of your job.
I once had to drop a pan without draining the oil since I didn't have a clean container for the fresh oil in the pan. |
