Re: Throttle shaft brass plug for zenith carbs
Still looking. Talked with Sacramento vintage, and probably mislead them into thinking part number 85-392 was correct for the 29-31 zenith throttle shaft plug.
The dimension for 85-392 is .47 inches. Need 9/32" Must be another zenith. Last edited by Brentwood Bob; 01-16-2020 at 04:32 PM. |

Re: Throttle shaft brass plug for zenith carbs
Is that plug really necessary?

Re: Throttle shaft brass plug for zenith carbs
I don't think so, there is seldom any wear on that side of the shaft, I have
2 Zeniths hanging up that do not have them, I believe the plug would only be removed if the bushings have been replaced and reamed, a cost saving change at some time?.

Re: Throttle shaft brass plug for zenith carbs
Necessary is a personal call, since it is on the engine side leaving it alone is an alternative.
Closest similar plug is 1/32 smaller. So now I will see if I can make it work. Last edited by Brentwood Bob; 01-17-2020 at 06:15 PM. |
