Hey Ted...it's humour! Lighten up will ya? I think most people will see it as such...

At least I interpreted the above few posts as humour, and responded in what I consider humour. If I have offended anyone, please, accept my sincere apology, it was not/is not my intention to upset anyone.

What I meant was we are lucky having any number of people here in NZ that can rebuild those steering boxes without having to travel the great distances you are faced with in the USA.
There would be several garages here in New Plymouth alone who are familiar with them.

I rescind my recommendation for Lares. Steering box came back filled with heavy grease instead of oil and lacked shims under steering gear housing end cap, binding the roller bearings causing the steering shaft to be very tight yet have 4" slack in the steering wheel. A proper rebuild (shame on me for not using Gary Edwards to start with) got me proper results.

Looks like you are still works on this car. First off the box and arm you have from swap meet are NO GOOD. E bay now have whole box and shaft column.
If your column is a 35 USE THAT SHAFT WITH THE 35 COLUMN.
Put 35 shaft on this box 163206077069 ebay.
With this new box 1940 see if arm hits oil pan. DONT PUT DRAG LINK UP SIDE DOWN
Get the right oil pan.

You also don,t want the 36 worm in the 37 to 40 box.

I agree Ted. I sent my Shock absorbers to be done by Andy In the States and Uncle Max did the carb. The Breeze Carb on my 1910 Hupmobile went to Montana to be rebuilt . I could have got them done here and they may have been ok but how many have they done. I'm sure no one n New Zealand has done a Breeze Carb but Stan in Montana had 3 on his bench when mine was there-Experience does count -Karl

Not sure you needed to apologize, I mean fords were invented here . Makes sense a ford guy in country around the other-side of the world would use someone thats another ford guy local. Seems logical. Great someone can do it local in your area, and is a ford guy.

just for fun...
