Default wiring in 1953 ford car

I recently bought a '53 ford car. While the engine is out for a rebuild, I have been checking some of the wiring-it is original, cloth-covered. Some of it need replacement. I have the wire diagram for the '53 and have been tracing the circuits for the "y" wire which has to do with the ignition and charging systems and probably much more.

One y wire extends from the battery terminal on the voltage regulator to the circuit breaker. That connects with a y wire that goes to the ignition switch.

The other y wire comes from the starter solenoid (battery side) and passes to the middle terminal of the horn relay. From there, I am unable to determine its path...can't see it on the wire diagram.

Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. Richard

Just looked at the wiring diagram, it goes to the transmission interlock and then to the ignition switch. I feel your pain, I just screwed it up!! Let me look at it some more.

OK, start over here. The wire I described above is the R/Bl wire to the starter solenoid center terminal!!

The Yellow wire goes to the horn relay center terminal. A second Yellow wire connects to the same terminal and goes to the amp meter on the dash. It passes through the loop on the amp meter and then connects to the terminal on one CB. There is a bar connecting the two CBs together and the other terminal is the one for the voltage regulator connection.

JSeery,

Thanks! Now, if I can manage to get a look at it. Well into my senior years and not so flexible. Richard

Yep, there's the yellow wire attached to the CB. Appears to be in good condition. The yellow connection between the solenoid and the horn relay needs replacement. Easily done. #12 wire about right? or heavier?
