Default Parts for restoring 32-35 Fuel Gauges

I've noticed a few threads recently about restoring early Ford (32-35) fuel gauges. I have successfully restored my King-Seeley fuel gauge with parts from 'Classic & Exotic Service, Inc.' who operate out of Troy, Michigan. They carry a full range of all the necessary parts to repair these useful units. Their email for those who are interested is: [email protected]. I am based in New Zesaland, and found their service prompt and courteous.

Yes they are very good. Also their red fluid is the only one I have found that doesn't discolour with time .-Karl

Karl, how long would you have had the red fluid in your 34 fuel gauge, I have tried different fluids and they discolour after only a three or four years.

Ian I- replaced the fluid with I think MACs fluid soon after I got the car when I fixed the leak in the airline -It discoloured within 6 months -I use the car a lot however so sits in the sun outside my office most days when I am at work . I replaced it with Classic and Exotic fluid and now after about 6 months no discolouration at all.

Interestingly I think the specific gravity of the new fluid may be slightly different as I had to recalibrate the gauge with the new fluid. The only problem I had was that the tiny bottle of fluid was very well packaged in a large box and the postage cost was about 6 times the cost of the fluid itself ! -Karl
