Mallory Model YA Type 11 S/N 3161 Electronic
Engine is at top dead center and am attempting to install Mallory correctly. What position should the Rotor be in? Appreciate your information. Jerry! !

If'n you,re at TDC for #1 cylinder, rotor should at the leading edge of the terminal for #1 cylinder

It will depend on the intermediate shaft (machining) and the position of the gear drive during assembly. I found on 3 different distributors, all Mallory the offset position on the drive opposite one another (two same, one different). It is my understanding the intermediate shaft offsets are opposite one another on a stock shaft. I have several examples of different keying, pretty sure not from factory. The position of No. 1 firing rotor position should be towards right front fender, at least from a cap with indicators (wires not winged dist) On the Model A, the firing order can start anywhere, it is not like an aircooled VW where the #3 plug is retarded a few degrees.
