I went with the Schumacher. Seems to work great. Only time will tell.

I think we have talked about what type of battery and what tender is right. I'm not sure a tender is a great solution outside a leadacid. The Optima batteries are not the best to cycle. Battery tenders left on a battery just cycles a battery needlessly. If you don't have a drain when sitting you don't need to cycle a battery or tend it.

Some of the fancy pants smart chargers do that stuff but strictly speaking a battery tender should just provide a "float" charge, without all the other jiggery-pokery.
