Default `1937 Ford PU head light issue

A few years back I installed a Halogen headlight kit in my 37 pu using stock lenses. Never was satisfied. Low beam just ok. Hi beam, no beam just a flood light. I've been told, that changing the bulb to an LED may provide a beam for both high and low beam. Anyone had this problem and if so will the LED bulb change be an improvement.
Thanks for you input.
