Default Fuel pump ID

I was trying to help a fellow Barner for a fuel pump and found this. The only markings on it are an "H" and the number "35" surrounded by a cryptic looking radii pattern. Cast in the top plate is "PAT PENDING MADE IN USA". Anyone have an inkling of an idea what it is/fits?

Flathead V8 '35-'48.Wiil work on 1934 but the '34's have a smaller top 1/2 casting.Very common.

Looks like a post war aftermarket replacement made by Holley thus the "H"and the radial date code. For Ford production, in about 36 the top white metal casting was increased in size from the early 34-36 pumps. None of the 34-40 pumps have the pressed steel top with the ears that extend downward. The later 36-41 cast top sections have uneven input and output holes, one is higher than the other. From your photos is is hard to tell what size or the placement of the holes on the die cast top.

I agree with Terry. The one photo that we need (of the relationship of the inlet and outlet openings) isn't there.

With so many different manufacturers and similar designs of pump out there, it would be based on charactertistics and fit only. It could be for some other make or even a hay baler for all I know.

Does this help?

That it does, thank you. The pump in question is a post-'41 pump with the aligned inlet and outlet holes. The previous versions' outlet hole is noticeably below that of the inlet hole.

As Terry indicated, the stamped top cover is another telltale. It is interesting that the subject pump has the T-handled drain plug and spring. Generally speaking that was replaced with a special slotted hex head screw and fiber washer starting with the '34 version.

Thank you David and Pete. I have no use for it but now that we know what it is if anyone is interested I'll list it in the swap meet. I'm all about putting parts like this back in service rather than scrapping them.

Great isn't it! Post some pics of them and see who chimes in. I have several others still attached to unknown (to me) manifolds I'd like to ID. I'll get to them eventually.
