'32 steering gear ID
Just wanted to confirm my '32 steering gear is '32 and not a 33-34 truck piece. I can not find a B or 18- number anywhere but the main box has a 12000 cast into it and the extension has 12040 cast into it. I am assuming these are Gimmer numbers. Anyone have an answer?

I had a big truck box and it did look just like a pass model but bigger. My 32 pass box has B 3550 on the main housing and nothing on the sector housing. The steering shaft on the truck box was 7/8" OD. I suspect the truck box would steer pretty good as it is 18 to one I think.

I have a '32 passenger box with the same numbers as your's and was told it was correct. See post #12 in the following thread and subsequent replies:
