Re: vicky frame
Butch,
It was late September 1930 when frames started to utilize the #6 body bracket. If the frame does not have the bracket, that simply means that more than likely another body style was set on that frame of yours. There should be NO holes drilled for the bracket unless someone removed them...HOWEVER...you may see center punch marks for the brackets IF it is a frame past September 1930...If the marks are not there, then more than likely it is before they started to punch the frame for the #6 bracket. Then again, you may simply have a frame that did not get center punched. Pluck Last edited by Steve Plucker; 03-03-2014 at 02:34 PM. |

Re: vicky frame
That's interesting! I don't recall seeing a '31 frame WITHOUT the holes punched just forward of the rear running board brackets. Of course 1930 frames had the punch marks for locating side mounts but those are all I've ever noticed.
I guess I'll have to start looking at frames as I come across opportunities.

Re: vicky frame
What different Model A Body styles used those #6 brackets? Victoria and what else?

Re: vicky frame
I just checked the frame on Jim Boehmke's '31 Standard Coupe. As I remembered the frame has the three hole on each side but of course no bracket. His frame (and engine) is 428####. With that said, it may well be a later frame than Butch's as Jim's Coupe was not built until September 1931.
