Re: Ford the American Dream
Hi Everyone. While listening, at about 9:50, the narrator says that the first V8 car came off the assembly line on March 9th 1932. That would make today the anniversary! Eighty-Five years!
Adding: Thanks for the heads-up! I watched the whole thing. At the end I see 'written and produced by Lorin Sorensen.' Why should I know that name? Rings a bell somewhere but I don't think it's from his books that I see at the big online seller. Was he in the V-8 Club? Hmmm.

Re: Ford the American Dream
Lorin WAS in the V8 club, was editor of the Ford Life magazines and wrote many Ford related coffee table sized books. He passed away a few years ago. Had a series of VHS tapes of factory movies and some were converted to DVD. He also wrote the 100 year anniversary book for Sears, and his last book was about the West and old time cowboys and rodeo folk. He was a member of our RG up in Seattle as he had many friends up here including me.

Re: Ford the American Dream
I watched it last night; there were a couple of inaccurate remarks, but all in all, a very good watch!

Re: Ford the American Dream
I believe Lorin Sorensen was the son of Charles Sorensen who was an early mover and shaker at Ford.
Here is a link to Charles biography on Wikipedia. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_E._Sorensen |

Thanks for the link, I thought I'd seen all the old Ford youtube videos, guess I was wrong.

Re: Ford the American Dream
Enjoyed!. I listened to the ad for the new 66 Fairlane Gt over and over but I'd swear she says the 389 engine? Well 66 the gt was 390 and 289 was not sold under the gt badges until 67? Maybe I'm not hearing it correct but I was amazed at the ad.
