Default gasket set rear main seals

i have a felpro gasket set and it has 2 sets of rear main seals one is the standard white rope type and the other 2 are black looks like graphite,witch ones are better ,seems like the black ones are softer,if i go with the black ones do they need to be soaked in oil ? thanks in advance...al

No matter which ones you use, I would still soak them, and make sure you "pack" them into the seal cavity, and trim the ends about 1/16 long with razor blade.
