Question about using 32-34 front axle in model A
My question is when a 32-34 front axle, 32 spindles, 32 perches, on a model A and keeping manual brakes. Which king pin set do you use when rebuilding with new bushings and bearings? A model A 28-31 set or model B 32-34 set? Thanks Ben

Why have you decided on these 1932 parts? Wayne

So I collected a couple of parts to help it get lower and still keep it OE ford parts kinds. I have a reversed eye T spring for the rear, 34 front axle and spindles=1.5" of drop, 32 perches, stock model a wishbone, flatted out A to 32 style front crossmember which should give me another 1" or so. And a reversed eye front main spring as well that I plan on adding or removing leaves to adjust it as needed. |

Bob is correct, the model A pins, acctuators ect work on the 32 stubs. I think you can use 32 pins but then use all 32 stuff but you can't mix. Here is another picture, though I didn't use 32 perches..

Re: Question about using 32-34 front axle in model A
Listen to what Bob C says. Using the 32 perch pins and A kingpins and acuators keeps the brake rods and everything in line. Since your going with 32 spindles I assume your using 32 brakes also, if not I suggest you do and a Flathead Ted kit.

Use Model A king pins. Old post of mine here that talks about what's needed. http://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12576
I've since switched to 40 hydraulic brakes up front. |
