Default Wiring Issues

I wired up my lights today. With the motor running and the lights off the ammeter reads just above zero. when is put the gas to it will go up to 20 or so. With the lights on it reads -20 and -10 when I gun the motor.

I didn't seem right, so I thought I would ask you guys.

Any thoughts?
