Default Float valve question

Does anyone know of a supplier that sells thin shims other than the usual one sold by the parts suppliers that could be used to shim the float vale accurately??

Thanks!!

Yes, you can gently bend float arm a little bit.

Or you can put some 400 grit sandpaper on a really flat surface (piece of glass) and gently rub a fiber washer on the paper to make it thinner. Go slowly and keep test fitting until you get float height you want.

I find the newer viton tipped float vales often need an extra washer or 1/2 thickness washer to get the hieght correct

Yes, me, too, John. That's when I started sanding one down thinner, to add to another. I found 1 not enough and 2 was too much. I also use a light coating of non-hardening gasket dressing on those little washers when I install them, to ensure a good seal without having to torque them in too tight.

Seriously!!!

I know they were sent airmail. (The pigeon may be on holiday in Hawaii on the way over the Pacific Ocean!)

Perhaps MAFCA needs to adopt online voting instead of paper mail. That would save everyone a couple of stamps, and allow for faster and easier voting from our international members. Probably save the club some money, too!

Well, whenever your ballots show up, please vote for me and send them right back so that they make the cut-off date of Oct. 15.

Thanks!
