34 PU Door Hinge ?

Have 34 PU doors with stress cracks around the rivets of the lower hinge. Can possibly be welded. Other and possible better option is to remove the hinge, cut out and replace cracked metal and reinstall hinge. My question is, lower hinge is riveted on, so how big of mess/job is it to remove and then try to rerivet the hinge. Has anyone done this? Any tips or information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance of all.

I had the door skins off my 32 doors. What I found was the inner brace pulled away from the outer door. I think this is a common problem with these old trucks. Pete

Mine has the same cracks......They are still there.
