Default Finish on spring clips

I would like to know what the correct finish is on the front and rear spring clip bolt and nut. I don't see anything in the Judging Guidelines about the finish. Maybe I missed it. There is a picture below of the page from the guidelines

Look at the UNDER CARRIAGE FINISHES table on page 4-22 revised 2011 under “Spring Clips' they are are "BG".

Under codes BG = black gloss

I saw the spring clip finish as satin black paint, but I need the bolts and nuts finish.

I looked again and
Spring Clips, front ("U" bolts are "Bg" and the Nuts are U2, Bg and cotters are "U"

Spring Clips, rear ("U" bolts are "Bg" and the Nuts and cotters are "U"

Bg Black Gloss

U2 Change date mid 1930

I believe the U bolts and nuts are the parts that hold the springs to the front and rear crossmembers, not the clip bolts and nuts I was referring to. There are no cotter pins used on the spring clip bolts and nuts.

Rusty,
My thoughts have been that they were assembles with the spring and painted as a complete unit, making them black satin.

Gary,
Thanks for the info. I had a slight suspicion that might be the way it was originally done by Ford, but didn't see anything in the JG's. Your help is appreciated.

Now I understand, you want the finish on the spring clamps, and the response from Gary Karr is right on. The spring clamps should be the same as the spring, "Bst" black satin.
