Panel delivery body plans
Does anyone on this forum have body plans for a 30/31 C-Cab delivery body. UPS had Model As with this type of body and I would like to build one. I haven't had much luck with previous posts but I want to try it again. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Ken Brekke Plover, WI

Re: Panel delivery body plans
Ken, I am unaware of such a set a plans being available which probably answers the reason why. So the next thing is have you considered making them yourself? A couple options to think about would be to initially sketch out on paper what you are seeking. Then purchase one of the 1:20th scale steel models like Hubley made of a Sedan or Station Wagon. Cut the body at the cowl A pillar and assemble the model sans the rest of the body. Using Balsa wood, heavy card-stock, or Styrene, begin laying out and building up in scale what you are trying to achieve. Then transfer the measurements of your model into real-scale and start making sawdust!! Good Luck on your venture!!

You don't need a hubley, there is already a one made, I can't remember who makes it. One of the clubs gave it away as a raffle win. Nice model.....

Here is a 1/25 scale, a little less quality than the other I saw. This may be smaller too ebay #360372105122

Re: Panel delivery body plans
Thanks for the replies. The model on Ebay is the body I am talking about. I found out that bodies like this were made by the Stoughton Coach company in Stoughton Wisconsin which is now Stoughton Trailers. I am working with an old engineer there to see if they have anything in their archives.
It will be a great project if I can get a set of plans. I don't know if I would be able to make my own not knowing structurally what kinds of joints are best. The search goes on. Ken B. |

Re: Panel delivery body plans
I haven't tried pursuing the one that was in the Restorer years ago. I saw the article once and should have taken more information down on it then. I will have to do some digging in the Restorers. Does anyone know which issue it was in? I believe that it may have been in more than one issue.

try UPS corporate, they have one and may let measurements be done... or better yet they may have them.

Re: Panel delivery body plans
I have tried without much success at all contacting UPS directly. I keep getting told that I will receive a call back from someone that works with the old UPS trucks. The search goes on.
