leaking block......help!!
Just discovered a leak on the front of my '31 block. It's on the very front where the block goes toward the rear after the water pump and the heavy cast area where the head bolts to. I have to use a mirror to see it and looks like at least 3 very small holes where it has rusted through.
Will Block Seal made by K&W stop this? I can not afford to pull the engine to get it welded. I was thing of using the block seal and some JB Weld after I dry it out. Any ideas?? Thanks, Art |

Re: leaking block......help!!
i like to use water glass (sodium silicate) for that , crc is the brand Kragens sell, this stuff works, it uses heat and air to work, so if you do use it FOLLOW THE DIRECTIONS, this stuff will stop a leak that you can put a knife edge in, and if used as directed its almost permante

JB weld will be fine. We had a memebr who had his engine taken down to be rebuilt after owneing it for years only to find out there was a bullet hole in the front of the engine and someone just used JB weld and painted over it. Many many miles no problems.
